We are looking for a dynamic Leader with a passion for servant leadership, collaboration and drive for continuous improvements to oversee our warehousing operations in the Houston market. We are looking for a leader that will drive and implement change by utilizing current resources and developing new and innovative solutions to our ever-evolving business environment. This will include ensuring all warehouses are safe, organized, operating with a LEAN/5s methodology and adhering to company standards in quality, security and talent development. This position will also hold the responsibility for overseeing all warehouse operations and work in concert with the
Director of Logistics to implement and improve operations to a best-in-class standard.
The Distribution Manager will supervise and empower their team to make the right business decision for all shipping and transport of goods from their location to the customer. They will supervise and manage a robust team with the responsibility of ensuring inventory integrity is met, customer needs are satisfied and developing and coaching their team on best practices. They will manage the warehouse to ensure consumer demands are met, oversee budget, KPI's, quality/quality improvements, inventory, cost reduction and processing of orders to completion for all distributed products.
The Distribution manager will implement systems, drive change and collaborate with work centers to develop plans that meet our business needs by analyzing data to improve work execution, warehouse operations and satisfying our customers' requirements. They will be responsible for financial budgets, negotiating with vendors and implementation of policies and procedures. They will be responsible for ensuring that safety, quality, security, and health are paramount for every employee at their location.
Responsibilities
- Establishes and implements continuous improvement initiatives including six sigma principles to ensure warehouse operations sustainability
- Responsible for managing the proper staging, facility layout, slotting, inventory integrity and the shipments of goods.
- Perform duties related to shipping and receiving of materials.
- Work with Customer Service to resolve customer issues, create action plans to ensure misses are captured and not repeated and coach team on opportunities.
- Review data, identify and implement necessary actions as required.
- Monitor and develop KPI's to measure teams' performance.
- Strategize and collaborate with a diverse work environment to make sound decisions to meet business needs.
- Coordinate resources to align with overall company strategies.
- Take action to learn all product and service offerings, alternative solutions, and industry trends.
- Stock and maintain inventory items in designated warehouse storage areas.
- Work with distribution management team to improve work environment.
- Evaluate employee performance and provide disciplinary action as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Graduate's Degree in business, Supply Chain, Logistics or equivalent degree.
- 5+ years of Logistics and/or Warehouse management experience
- Experience with LEAN, 5S, Six Sigma strongly preferred
- Experienced in WMS/TMS software, Cloud protocols and Warehouse operations
- Demonstrated business acumen and decision-making skills.
- Comfortable collaborating with teams and clients to solve problems.
- Sound leadership and attention to details.
- Comfortable making decisions, experienced in Warehouse/Transportation transformation and change management.
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS:
- Reaching, stooping, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting and grasping all within a warehouse environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Exposure to a non-climate controlled warehouse environment with forklift traffic and noises.
- Proper PPE will be provided if needed.
