Position: Logistics Distribution Manager

Location: Houston, TX

Pay: $95,000 to $105,000/year

Experience:

5+ years of experience in transportation or logistics management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Experience working with TMS platforms and freight optimization tools.
Experience managing carrier operations in support of e-commerce fulfillment is required, particularly with parcel and last-mile delivery networks.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.

Greene Resources is seeking a Logistics Distribution Manager to join a growing and dynamic team!

Job Description:

Manage daily transportation operations, ensuring on-time and in-full delivery of products to customers, distribution centers, or retail locations.
Select, negotiate with, and manage relationships with third-party carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics service providers.
Monitor carrier performance and take corrective actions when KPIs (on-time delivery, cost-per-mile, damage rate, etc.) are not met.
Analyze shipping trends and freight costs; implement strategies to optimize distribution routes and reduce transportation expenses.
Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., Warehouse, Customer Service, Sales) to ensure alignment of distribution activities with overall supply chain strategy.
Maintain compliance with DOT, OSHA, and other federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
Manage transportation-related documentation and ensure accurate and timely billing and invoicing.
Use transportation management systems (TMS) and analytics tools to track shipments, resolve issues, and produce reports.
Support sustainability initiatives related to fuel efficiency and emissions reduction where applicable.

Position Requirements:

Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
In-depth knowledge of freight modes (LTL, FTL, intermodal, parcel).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills preferred.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with TMS systems.
Experience in Delivery Checkout Systems.
Certification in transportation or logistics (e.g., CTL, APICS, CLTD).
Budgeting P&L Statements.
