Role Description: Training Lead – Truck Service Digital Transformation
Role Summary:
The Training Lead will be responsible for leading the end-to-end training workstream supporting the Truck Service Digital Transformation program, including the successful implementation of Microsoft Dynamics Field Service (MSD-FS). This role will ensure the development, design, and delivery of impactful learning experiences that drive adoption and empower field technicians, shop staff, service support, and fleet managers with the skills needed to succeed in the new digital environment. The Training Lead will work closely with Change Management, Technical Product Teams, Operations, and Communications to align training with the overall transformation roadmap.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Strategy & Planning:
• Develop a comprehensive training strategy and roadmap aligned to project milestones and phased implementation.
• Conduct training needs assessments across user groups (mobile technicians, shop techs, fleet service reps, etc.).
• Define learning objectives and success metrics for each user group.
• Instructional Design & Content Development:
• Lead the creation of instructional materials, including job aids, quick reference guides (QRGs), eLearning modules, and facilitator guides.
• Apply adult learning principles and blended learning techniques to accommodate field-based learners with varied access to technology.
• Design and script scenario-based training aligned with real-world workflows in MSD-FS.
• Training Delivery & Enablement:
• Oversee delivery of training sessions (virtual, in-person, on-demand), including “train-the-trainer” and end-user sessions.
• Partner with the Training Coordinator and Change Agents to roll out role-based training by location and phase.
• Provide ongoing support to trainers and SMEs throughout delivery.
• Learning Measurement & Sustainment:
• Design and implement feedback loops, knowledge checks, and pre/post assessments to gauge training effectiveness.
• Support knowledge sustainment through refresher sessions, digital toolkits, and continuous learning campaigns post go-live.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Partner with Change Management, Communications, Business SMEs, and Technology teams to ensure alignment and accuracy.
• Coordinate with the Communications Lead to reinforce key messages and integrate training into broader change efforts.
• Provide regular updates to program governance on training progress and risks.
Key Requirements:
Experience:
• 7+ years in instructional design and training delivery for enterprise systems or field service solutions.
• Proven success in training design and enablement for digital transformation or large-scale system implementations (preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365).
• Experience working with dispersed, field-based, or blue-collar workforce populations.
• Technical Skills:
• Expertise in instructional design tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia).
• Graphic design and visual communication skills using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
• Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and SCORM-compliant eLearning delivery.
Soft Skills:
• Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to engage non-technical learners.
• Adaptability in a fast-paced, iterative implementation environment.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with a detail-oriented approach.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Organizational
Psychology, Education, or related field.
• Certification in instructional design, adult learning, or Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
• Familiarity with truck service operations or field service environments is highly desirable.
