NeighborHealth
NeighborHealth is a Greater Boston community health network founded in 1970, providing primary, specialty, behavioral health and emergency care to more than 120,000 patients.
NeighborHealth is a community health network serving Greater Boston, with locations in East Boston, the South End and Roxbury. Founded in 1970, it is one of the nation's largest Federally Qualified Health Centers and the largest community-based primary care health system in Massachusetts. The organisation cares for more than 120,000 patients and records over 300,000 patient visits a year.
Its services span primary care, specialty care and behavioral health, alongside a Satellite Emergency Department - the only one in Massachusetts - which is the fourth busiest Emergency Department in Boston. Behavioral health is integrated into the wider care model, and the network works with community programmes to make services reachable for residents who might otherwise go without them.
NeighborHealth's stated mission is to provide accessible, compassionate and high-quality healthcare to all residents, with a particular focus on low-income and immigrant communities and on closing health equity gaps. The organisation grew out of East Boston Neighborhood Health Center and rebranded to reflect a wider service area; it expanded further through a 2020 merger with South End Community Health Center, and describes its growth as driven by partnership and collaboration.
Clinical and operational work covers the domains of primary care, specialty care, behavioral health, emergency medicine, community health and health equity care models. Further information is available at https://neighborhealth.com/.
