Relay Technologies
Relay Technologies builds a tech-enabled hyperlocal parcel delivery network that replaces hub-and-spoke logistics to make e-commerce delivery faster and lower-emission for retailers and their customers.
Relay Technologies operates a tech-enabled hyperlocal parcel delivery network designed to replace the hub-and-spoke model on which much of e-commerce logistics still relies. Using proprietary algorithms and real-time data systems, the company moves parcels with fewer touchpoints than conventional last-mile delivery, with the stated aim of making delivery faster and less burdensome for retailers and their customers. The company says its approach cuts emissions by up to 60% compared with conventional delivery.
The business is active across Europe and sits at the intersection of e-commerce, retail and logistics. Relay Technologies raised $35M in a Series A round described as Europe's largest-ever logistics Series A. Its mission, as the company puts it, rests on the view that high delivery costs should not determine what can be sold online.
The team numbers roughly 90 people, of whom more than half work in engineering, product and data. The company reports 45 or more advanced degrees on staff in computer science, mathematics and operations research. Technical work spans proprietary algorithms, real-time data systems, operations research, optimisation and data science.
