Jonas Software

Jonas Software acquires and permanently holds vertical market software companies, running 190+ independently managed firms that serve 60,000+ customers across 40+ industries worldwide.

Jonas Software is a global operator and acquirer of vertical market software companies. Founded in 1990 and a wholly-owned operating group of Constellation Software, Inc. (CSI), which is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, it has grown to employ more than 8,000 people across over 30 countries. The group comprises more than 190 independently managed software companies serving over 60,000 customers in more than 40 vertical markets, among them construction, hospitality, healthcare, fitness and club management, food and beverage, education and legal services.

Its portfolio companies build and operate mission-critical enterprise management software for their respective industries. Acquisitions are held permanently under what Jonas calls its "Software for Life" model: the company states it has never sold a business since its founding. Having completed more than 185 acquisitions, it supports its operating companies with resources, expertise and best practices while leaving them to run their own product lines and customer relationships.

For workers, the structure is decentralised. Acquired companies retain their own name, culture and day-to-day autonomy, with roughly 8,000 employees distributed across the group's businesses in more than 30 countries. The technical work spans vertical market software, enterprise management systems and the integration and management of acquired software businesses. Parent company CSI reported revenue exceeding $5 billion.
