HUMANITAS MIRASOLE SPA
An Italian hospital, research and teaching group operating specialised hospitals and care centres, a research center focused on immune-related diseases, and Humanitas University.
HUMANITAS MIRASOLE SPA is an Italian hospital, research and teaching group founded in 1996. It combines clinical care, scientific research and medical education within a single organisation, on the principle that research findings should translate directly into improved patient care. The group treats more than 1.3 million patients a year and employs over 3,000 staff and 800 physicians.
Its flagship facility, Istituto Clinico Humanitas, is a hospital near Milan. It was the first polyclinic in Italy certified for clinical excellence by Joint Commission International, and was named best hospital in Italy for three consecutive years from 2022 to 2024 by the National Agency for Regional Health Services. Across Italy, the group operates 12 specialised hospitals and 23 medical care centres, with locations in Milan, Bergamo, Turin, Catania and Castellanza. Specialised clinical centres cover cancer treatment, cardiovascular diseases, neurological disorders, orthopedics, ophthalmology and fertility care.
Research is conducted at the Humanitas Research Center, which investigates immune system-related diseases and brings together over 400 scientists from 16 countries. Teaching is delivered through Humanitas University, a medical education institution that trains healthcare professionals using innovative teaching methods and state-of-the-art facilities.
