Franciscan Alliance
Catholic healthcare system founded in 1875, operating 12 hospital campuses, clinics and home health services across Indiana and Illinois, with over 16,000 employees.
Franciscan Alliance, operating as Franciscan Health, is a Catholic healthcare system serving communities in Indiana and Illinois. Founded in 1875 by Catholic Sisters from Olpe, Germany, it is today one of the largest Catholic health care systems in the Midwest, employing over 16,000 people across a network built over more than 145 years of continuous operation.
The system's work spans the full continuum of care. It runs 12 hospital campuses providing inpatient and acute treatment, alongside numerous outpatient medical practices and clinics serving local communities, and home health services delivered to patients and families in their own homes. Its Centers of Health Care Excellence are nationally recognised specialty centres offering modern medical innovations and procedures.
Employment at Franciscan Alliance is anchored in a faith-based mission: continuing Christ's Ministry in the Franciscan tradition through compassionate, comprehensive care. The organisation emphasises whole-person care addressing the physical, mental and spiritual needs of individuals and families, while combining that tradition with contemporary clinical practice. Roles are concentrated in Indiana and Illinois, throughout the Midwest United States.
