Catch22

Catch22 is a UK social business delivering public services in justice, education, training, and support for young people and families.

Catch22 is a UK social business that designs and delivers public services intended to build resilience and aspiration in people of all ages and communities across the United Kingdom. It traces its origins to The Philanthropic Society, founded in 1788; the modern organisation was formed in 2008 through mergers. Its stated approach combines the mission of a charity with the operating principles of a business.

The organisation works across five main areas. Its justice services cover offender management, violence reduction, rehabilitation and victim support in prisons and community settings. It runs alternative provision schools and colleges for pupils outside mainstream education, and delivers apprenticeships and employment support through vocational training and employability programmes. Services for young people and families include child exploitation work, mental health support and family intervention. Catch22 is also a delivery partner for the National Citizen Service, the youth social action programme.

Across these activities, the organisation reports supporting more than 140,000 people each year through over 120 public services, drawing on more than 200 years of public service delivery. Its work sits within the broader public sector service delivery market, spanning justice and offender management, education, training, employability and youth services.
