Windward

Windward is a Maritime AI company founded in 2010 by former naval officers Ami Daniel and Matan Peled. It builds mission-grade, all-source operational intelligence for the maritime domain, combining behavioral analytics with multi-sensor data fusion to produce a single operational picture. The company works with defense, intelligence, government and national security customers, as well as commercial clients in shipping, trading and energy.

Its principal product, the Maritime AI™ Platform, fuses behavioral analytics and multi-sensor data into predictive, intelligence-driven decision support. The output is designed to be explainable, unclassified and shareable, allowing it to be distributed across allied and commercial partners. Technical work spans maritime AI, predictive analytics, multi-sensor data fusion and risk detection, drawing on more than 15 years of building Maritime AI™ systems.

Windward was listed on the London Stock Exchange's AIM market in December 2021 under the ticker WNWD, having raised roughly $85M in total funding. In 2025 the company was taken private by FTV Capital in a transaction valued at approximately $300M. It describes its customer base as including some of the world's most advanced militaries and tech-forward enterprises, with a global geographic footprint and operations serving global trade.
