Wayve

Wayve builds embodied AI and end-to-end learning software that enables autonomous vehicles to navigate real-world environments, supplying mapless driving technology to automotive manufacturers.

Wayve is a technology company developing embodied AI that enables autonomous vehicles to learn from and navigate complex real-world environments. Founded in 2017 and headquartered in London, the company applies end-to-end deep learning and foundation models to driving, an approach it terms AV2.0: learning-based systems are trained on experience rather than assembled from hand-engineered rules and high-definition maps.

Its principal product, the Wayve AI Driver, is mapless and hardware-agnostic autonomous driving software intended for integration by automotive manufacturers into production vehicles. The technical work spans machine learning, foundation models trained to understand and interact with the physical world, and large-scale data and simulation infrastructure to support them.

Wayve has raised $1.3 billion in total funding and counts SoftBank, Microsoft and NVIDIA among its investors. It works with Nissan and other major OEMs on the deployment of automated driving systems.

Engineering and research roles are based across three sites: London (headquarters), Silicon Valley and Vancouver, serving the automotive and autonomous-vehicle industries.
