TradeDepot

TradeDepot runs a B2B e-commerce and embedded finance platform connecting small Sub-Saharan African retailers with global consumer-goods suppliers, backed by logistics and credit profiling.

TradeDepot is a B2B e-commerce and embedded finance platform for informal retail distribution in Sub-Saharan Africa. Headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria, with operations in Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa, it connects small retailers - mom-and-pop shops and kiosks - with global suppliers of consumer goods, among them Coca-Cola, Unilever and Nestlé. The company describes its mission as empowering local entrepreneurs and building a more connected, efficient commerce ecosystem.

Its offering rests on three components: a digital marketplace linking small retailers to global suppliers; logistics infrastructure that distributes goods across fragmented African retail ecosystems; and an embedded finance arm that builds verifiable transaction histories and credit profiles for informal retailers, extending financial services to entrepreneurs who have previously been unbanked. Engineering work spans B2B marketplace platforms, fintech, logistics and supply chain infrastructure, and digital credit profiling and transaction data systems.

The addressable market is large. Mom-and-pop shops and kiosks account for roughly 80% of Africa's retail sales, and there are some 60m SMEs across Sub-Saharan Africa. Industry verticals served include FMCG and consumer goods, informal retail, e-commerce, logistics and distribution, and lending.
