Telesat

Founded in 1969 and headquartered in Ottawa, Telesat is a global satellite operator providing connectivity to broadcast, telecom, corporate and government customers via its geostationary fleet and the Telesat Lightspeed LEO network.

Telesat is one of the world's largest global satellite operators, delivering critical connectivity solutions to broadcast, telecommunications, corporate and government customers worldwide. Founded in 1969 and headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, the company has more than 55 years of operating history and maintains offices and facilities around the world serving a global customer base.

The company operates two complementary systems. Its state-of-the-art global geostationary satellite fleet provides connectivity to customers across its core markets. Alongside this, Telesat Lightspeed is a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) network designed to deliver ubiquitous, affordable, high-capacity links at fiber-like speeds with ultra-low latency, combining capacity, security, resiliency and affordability.

Telesat's work spans satellite communications, geostationary satellite systems, LEO satellite constellations, global connectivity networks and telecommunications. The company pioneered the world's first commercial domestic communications satellite in geostationary orbit, and describes its approach as working alongside customers to tackle complex communications challenges.
