Relay
Relay builds a cloud-based communication platform with rugged voice-first devices, push-to-talk, GPS and safety alerts to replace walkie-talkies for frontline teams.
Relay builds a cloud-based communication platform designed to replace two-way radios with rugged, voice-first smart devices and cloud software for frontline teams. The system provides instant push-to-talk nationwide, GPS tracking, and panic alerts with two-way talk for emergencies, and it is aimed at improving both worker safety and productivity. The company addresses a large market: some 2.4 billion frontline workers worldwide.
The platform extends beyond basic voice. TeamTranslate provides real-time voice translation in more than 30 languages, and Operational Insights turns day-to-day operating data into analytics that help leaders see how work is getting done. Fleet Shield is a service programme under which Relay fixes or replaces devices when they break, rather than leaving the problem with the customer.
Relay sells into a range of industries that depend on dispersed, deskless staff, including manufacturing, hospitality, casinos, healthcare, golf courses, facilities management, large venues, food services and education. Coverage is nationwide in the United States, and the platform is used in frontline operations globally.
The company raised $35m in a Series B funding round and ranked 424th on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500. Its stated focus is on frontline workers who have been left behind by the digital revolution, with an emphasis on safety and a service model that puts device reliability on Relay's own balance sheet.
