Ably Realtime
Ably Realtime provides globally-distributed realtime infrastructure and an AI transport layer for low-latency state synchronisation at scale, serving agentic AI and business-critical applications.
Ably Realtime, founded in 2016, builds globally-distributed infrastructure for realtime data and an AI Transport layer aimed at agentic AI and copilots. The company's platform delivers low-latency state synchronisation at scale, with a reported global message delivery latency of 6.5ms and 100% uptime across six years. Its customers include HubSpot, Webflow and NASCAR, and the company reports that its infrastructure powers over 2 billion devices each month across 80 countries.
Two products sit at the centre of the business. The Ably Realtime Platform is built on four pillars of dependability - Performance, Reliability, Scale and Network - and is intended for business-critical applications that cannot tolerate data loss or downtime. The Ably AI Transport Layer applies the same infrastructure to AI workloads, allowing agents and copilots to act, coordinate and collaborate in real time. The underlying network comprises more than 700 points of presence across 11 globally distributed regions.
The company's technical work spans realtime data infrastructure, globally-distributed systems, low-latency messaging, state synchronisation and network engineering. Founders invested more than 50,000 hours of research and development before launch, and engineering effort remains focused on hard problems of dependability and reliability. Ably has raised $78 million in funding.
