Range Group
Private investment firm founded in 2006 that owns a portfolio of luxury leisure travel companies and agencies in North America, including Kensington Tours, Travel Edge, TripArc and Ensemble Travel Group.
Range Group is a private investment firm founded in 2006 that has built a collection of luxury leisure travel companies in North America. Its portfolio of travel brands and agencies represents more than $4.5 billion in annual travel sales and operates across the United States, Canada and worldwide.
The group's holdings include Kensington Tours, which provides private guided tours worldwide and was launched in 2006 as Graduate Tours, a kitchen-table start-up focused on destination management and tented camps in East Africa before renaming and pivoting in 2009; Travel Edge and TripArc, luxury leisure travel companies; and Ensemble Travel Group, a travel consortium acquired in 2022 to supply technology, marketing and member services to leisure travel agencies.
Technical work across the group spans travel technology platforms, travel agency technology and marketing services, and membership and consortium services. The operating philosophy places expert travel advisors at the centre of the business, supported by technology and round-the-clock assistance. Industry coverage includes luxury leisure travel, travel advising, destination management, tented camps and safaris, and private guided tours and expeditions.
Range Group's origins lie in adventure travel: its founder ran Land Rover Defender expeditions around the world and MBA group trips to Kilimanjaro as a side hustle before starting the company at a kitchen table. Range Foundation, a registered non-profit charity in the United States and Canada, channels 10% of group profits to social impact, with more than $25 million invested to date.
