LemonSwan

LemonSwan is a German online dating and matchmaking agency founded in 2017 and based in Hamburg. The company serves educated, attractive singles seeking serious, long-term partnerships, with a stated focus on relationships at eye level rather than casual encounters. Its work spans psychology-based matching algorithms, personality testing, an online dating platform and manual profile verification and moderation.

At the centre of its offering is the LemonSwan® Prinzip, a matching principle built on a scientifically validated personality test developed by Prof. Dr. Peter Michael Bak of Hochschule Fresenius in Cologne. The test draws on current psychological research to generate tailored partner suggestions for members.

Verification is handled manually. Every profile is reviewed by specially trained staff known as “Türsteherinnen” (female gatekeepers), and roughly 75% of profiles are accepted. The approach reflects an emphasis on quality over quantity and on seriousness and safety within the member community.

The company operates primarily in Germany and maintains an academic partnership with Hochschule Fresenius in Cologne. Its industry segments are online dating, partner matchmaking and consumer internet.
