Kpler

Kpler provides real-time commodity, power and maritime intelligence using satellite tracking, AIS data and analytics; its platform covers 40+ commodities for 10,000+ organisations.

Kpler is a data-intelligence company that supplies real-time information on global commodity markets, power markets and maritime logistics. Founded in 2014 by engineers François Cazor and Jean Maynier, it began with the first cargo-tracking solution for the LNG market, built to address opacity in cargo movements and pricing. Today the Kpler Platform covers more than 40 commodities and is used by over 10,000 organisations worldwide, among them commodity traders, energy firms, shipping companies and government agencies.

The company's technical work draws on satellite tracking, AIS and maritime data, and advanced analytics to produce its real-time intelligence products. In addition to the core platform, its portfolio includes MarineTraffic, the maritime tracking platform acquired to expand Kpler's vessel-tracking and maritime logistics capabilities. Engineering and data roles therefore touch satellite-derived data, vessel telemetry, large-scale market datasets and the delivery of live intelligence to users across several industry verticals.

Employment at Kpler is international by design: the firm employs more than 750 experts drawn from over 35 nations, and serves clients across global markets. The stated mission is to bring transparency to commodity markets, and the stakeholder base spans commercial traders and public-sector bodies.
