Hippocratic AI
Hippocratic AI builds safety-focused large language models and over 1,000 specialised AI agents for non-diagnostic clinical conversations in healthcare.
Hippocratic AI develops safety-focused large language models for medical applications. Its systems conduct autonomous, non-diagnostic clinical conversations, handling low-risk tasks such as chronic care follow-ups, medication reminders and patient engagement in order to reduce the burden on clinicians. The company states that its work is directed at a global shortage of some 15m healthcare workers.
The flagship product, Polaris, is a constellation architecture that combines multiple specialised AI agents to deliver clinical conversations autonomously. Alongside it, Hippocratic AI has developed more than 1,000 AI Healthcare Agents for specific non-diagnostic tasks. Together these systems have completed over 150m clinical patient interactions. The company operates on NVIDIA-accelerated AI infrastructure and deploys on AWS.
Safety is the organising principle of the engineering work. The models are designed not to diagnose or prescribe, and the company reports zero safety issues across its clinical interactions to date. Its stated culture emphasises patient safety, ethical guardrails and a mission of bringing clinical abundance to healthcare while addressing clinician burnout.
Hippocratic AI has raised $404m in funding and is valued at $3.5bn. Its customers and partners include healthcare providers and health systems, with applications in chronic care management and patient engagement.
