Grafana Labs
Grafana Labs develops open source observability tools including Grafana, Loki, Mimir, Tempo and Pyroscope, plus the managed Grafana Cloud service.
Grafana Labs, founded in 2014, builds an open and composable observability platform that lets organisations visualise, analyse and act on their data. Its open source tools span data visualisation, logging, metrics, distributed tracing and continuous profiling. Grafana, the company's dashboarding and visualisation product, is used by millions of people, with millions of dashboards created. Alongside Grafana sit Loki for log aggregation, Mimir for metrics storage and querying, Tempo for distributed tracing and Pyroscope for continuous profiling; together with Grafana these form the LGTM+ Stack for monitoring metrics, logs, traces and profiles.
Commercial work centres on Grafana Cloud, a fully managed observability service that scales from small startups to Fortune 500 enterprises. The company reports more than 25 million users, over 7,000 customers and annual recurring revenue above $150m. Customers span financial services, technology, automotive and AI computing, AI research, space-related work and sport.
The firm employs more than 1,400 people across over 40 countries, and its workforce is distributed rather than concentrated in a single hub. Technical work covers observability, AI-powered observability, open source software and cloud managed services. The company began as a personal project and grew into a global open source ecosystem; it maintains a stated commitment to open source principles and runs the GrafanaCON and ObservabilityCON conferences.
