Geotab Inc.

Geotab Inc. provides connected vehicle and asset management solutions using data-driven telematics, serving roughly 100,000 customers globally from Oakville, Ontario.

Geotab Inc. is a connected vehicle and asset management company founded in 2000 and headquartered in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. It provides data-driven telematics solutions intended to improve safety, efficiency and sustainability across fleets. The company employs more than 2,700 people and reports approximately 100,000 customers worldwide, serving fleet management and transportation operators, public sector fleets, mid-sized commercial fleets and large enterprises including Fortune 500 organisations.

The core product is the Geotab telematics platform, which supports fleet performance and operations management and carries more than 5 million vehicle subscriptions. Around it sits the Geotab Marketplace, an open ecosystem offering hundreds of third-party solutions - among them in-vehicle cameras, temperature tracking and tyre pressure monitoring - and a Software Development Kit that lets customers and partners build and integrate their own applications on the platform. The underlying infrastructure processes some 100 billion data points a day.

Technical work spans connected vehicle telematics, data analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and firmware and device hardware engineering. Geotab owns the intellectual property for its hardware, firmware and software rather than outsourcing development, which the company says allows it to innovate quickly. Data security and privacy are a stated priority; its authorizations include FIPS 140-3 and FedRAMP.

Geotab began as a small family business and has grown over more than 25 years of operation. It describes itself as mission-driven, with a focus on safety, efficiency and sustainability, and maintains an open platform approach built on collaboration with partners and developers. Its operations are global.
