Easterseals-Goodwill Northern Rocky Mountain

Non-profit founded in 1947 providing disability, employment, therapy and senior services across Montana, Wyoming, Utah and Idaho, funded by more than 20 Goodwill retail stores.

Easterseals-Goodwill Northern Rocky Mountain is a non-profit organization that creates opportunities for people with disabilities, seniors, and individuals seeking employment assistance across the Northern Rocky Mountain region. Founded in 1947, it operates 19 programs from 58 service locations in Montana, Wyoming, Utah and Idaho. It has provided disability services in Montana for more than 75 years and in Wyoming for over 40 years.

Employment and job training services are a core part of its work, offering assistance and vocational training to individuals with disabilities and others seeking support in finding and retaining work. The organisation's other services include children's therapy; community integration and housing support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities; and health-related programmes for adults and seniors, including people recovering from surgery or illness and those moving from nursing homes to more independent living.

Revenue for these community services is generated largely through Goodwill retail store operations. More than 20 Goodwill retail locations across Montana, Utah, Idaho and Wyoming sell affordable, gently used merchandise, with proceeds funding the organisation's programmes. Roles therefore span both direct service provision - in therapy, employment support, community services and senior care - and the retail operations that sustain them.
