Asana is a work management platform for human and AI collaboration, founded in 2008 and headquartered in San Francisco, California. The company's software helps teams plan, organise and execute work by connecting company-wide goals, strategic initiatives and daily tasks. It is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker ASAN and employs approximately 1,800 people.

The Asana Work Management Platform is used by over 170,000 customers across enterprise software, technology, consulting, automotive and other industries. Alongside the core platform, the company builds AI-powered work tools designed to accelerate organisational impact, and maintains an integrations ecosystem of more than 300 connections to enterprise tools. Its technical work spans work management software, AI-driven productivity features, SaaS collaboration and enterprise integrations. Industry analysts have placed Asana in the Leader tier of The Forrester Wave for Collaborative Work Management and named it a Gartner Magic Quadrant Leader for three consecutive years.

Asana operates from more than 13 offices worldwide, among them San Francisco, New York City, Chicago, London, Dublin, Munich, Paris, Warsaw, Stockholm, Tokyo, Singapore, Sydney and Vancouver. The founding insight came from experience at Facebook, where teams spent more than half their day on co-ordination overhead rather than meaningful work; the company's stated mission is to help humanity thrive by enabling the world's teams to work together effortlessly. Its name, drawn from Sanskrit, refers to the seated yoga pose denoting balance and focus amid movement - a philosophy the company says underpins how it works.
