Archdiocese of St. Louis
A Catholic ecclesiastical organisation serving the St. Louis area and ten surrounding Missouri counties through parishes, schools, ministries, and administrative offices.
The Archdiocese of St. Louis is a Catholic ecclesiastical organization serving the St. Louis area and ten surrounding Missouri counties. Its work spans archdiocesan parishes, pastoral and charitable ministries, Catholic schools, and administrative support offices, and it serves more than 450,000 Catholics as well as the wider community. The archdiocese is headquartered at the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, Missouri.
Education is a substantial part of its remit. The archdiocese's coalition of Catholic schools serves more than 50,000 students from PreK through 12th grade, continuing a tradition of Catholic schooling in the region that began more than 200 years ago with St. Rose Philippine Duchesne. The schools aim to provide a high-quality education rooted in a sense of purpose and value, within a welcoming community oriented towards families' long-term security.
Alongside schools, the Archdiocesan Parish and Ministry Network comprises parishes, pastoral and charitable ministries, and support offices working across an 11-county area of Missouri. Employers and roles across the organisation operate within faith-based, educational, and non-profit settings, with a service-oriented culture directed at both Catholic parishioners and the general public.
