Position Overview
MILLY is seeking a strategic and style-savvy Merchandise Planner Analyst to lead seasonal product assortments, manage inventory investment, and drive sales and profitability across our ecommerce channel. This is a rare hybrid role that combines the creative vision of a buyer with the analytical rigor of a planner, driving data-backed decisions and maximizing sales and profitability.
The Planning Analyst will be responsible for forecasting demand, analyzing sales trends, managing inventory levels, and identifying opportunities to drive growth. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong Excel skills, a passion for data, and an understanding of the fashion retail calendar.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning & Forecasting
· Develop eCommerce demand sales plans in partnership with the VP of eCommerce and Digital Marketing
· Own topline and category-level sales forecasts, margin goals, and inventory plans (including OTB)
· Analyze historical data and current trends to inform seasonal buys and in-season reforecasting
· Monitor key KPIs such as sales, sell-through, inventory turn, and margin to identify risks and opportunities
· Recommend reorders, markdowns, RTVs, and promotional strategies to optimize margin and inventory efficiency
· Conduct ad hoc business analyses to support strategic initiatives and growth
Assortment & Buying Strategy
· Partner with Buyer to curate seasonal assortments that align with brand vision, trend direction, and performance goals
· Generate performance recaps and hindsight reporting to guide future assortment and investment strategies
· Identify in-season liabilities and opportunities, providing timely recommendations to merchandising and creative leaders
Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Work closely with eCommerce operations, site merchandising, marketing, and creative to ensure alignment on product launches and storytelling
· Partner with logistics and 3PL teams to manage inbound flow and inventory availability
· Present performance insights and strategy updates to leadership to support decision-making
Qualifications:
· 5+ years of experience in planning, allocation, or business analysis, ideally within fashion/apparel or eCommerce
· Strong analytical and Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, etc.)
· Excellent organizational and communication skills
