STUDIO TECHNICIAN – SCULPTURE & EXPANDED MEDIA
This position is part time benefits eligible. The successful candidate works during the Academic Year and is only scheduled between the months of August and May.
We're looking for a dynamic, organized, and highly creative individual to join our team as the Sculpture and Expanded Media Technician! Reporting to the Academic Affairs Operations Manager, you’ll play a central role in maintaining vibrant and functional studio spaces, supporting students and faculty, and overseeing tools, materials, and equipment that make artistic exploration possible.
In this exciting and fast-paced role, you’ll manage and maintain department facilities and inventory, lead tool and equipment checkout, support classroom needs, and facilitate documentation and exhibition of student work. You’ll mentor student workers, offer demos and open studios, and keep our supply store running smoothly. Whether it’s casting, coding, sewing, or digital fabrication, your broad knowledge of sculpture and expanded media practices will be put to excellent use every day.
We're looking for someone with exceptional communication skills, technical know-how, and a love for collaboration. If you have a BFA/BA or equivalent experience in art/design, and can lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and thrive in a creative environment, we’d love to meet you!

Compensation
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications. CIA offers a benefit package including; paid time off accrual, 13 paid holidays, as well as additional time off while the college is closed during winter break. CIA offers health and dental insurance, life and disability insurance, 403B retirement contribution, tuition remission, free campus parking, and inter-museum council discounts.
