As a Data Scientist for the Strategy & Analytics team at the Los Angeles Rams, you will be responsible for owning the most complex business analytics priorities. In this role, you will be a primary stakeholder in operational projects for Ticketing Sales & Service, Suites, Concessions, Merchandise, & Event Operations teams. You will use a robust analytical skillset to deliver insightful analysis based on advanced analytical models. Your work will be used by department heads to help drive better and more strategic business decisions.

This role will play an integral part in identifying areas to drive consumer revenue growth and setting the standard for events at SoFi Stadium.
Responsibilities
Data Quality Management & Transformation:
- Manage and transform data from a variety of databases and data sources (Snowflake, Google BigQuery Data Warehouse, SFTPs, etc.)
- Create end state data tables that are used for data products using a variety of ETL tools (Alteryx, DBT Preferred)
- Manage data quality by building audit reporting to measure accuracy and completeness of data and work with data engineer and operations teammates to rectify data issues
Analytical Modeling & Insights
- Partner with operational leaders to design metrics that help evaluate the health of the business, including any ETL development needed for consistent and robust analysis
- Apply Machine Learning techniques (statistical-modeling, clustering, etc.) to extract actionable insights through analysis of large-scale, high-dimensional data from a variety of data sources
- Drive experimentation from design through execution and analysis to maximize learnings and guide future business decisions
- Develop Natural Language Processing to analyze text and sentiment on guest feedback surveys to identify areas of opportunity to improve event operations and guest experience
- Evolve and maintain lead scoring and customer segmentations models for ticket sales and premium sales teams using a variety of data source inputs
- Build analytics strategy for improving sales conversion and customer retention
- Assist in evolving variable season ticket pricing strategy and single game dynamic pricing strategy
- Analyze SoFi Stadium areas including parking, ingress, concessions and merchandise
- Assist in compiling and distilling data insights for communication to various stakeholders
Other
- Perform ad-hoc analyses to support key business objectives from a variety of departments
- Assist on all Rams gamedays and a variety of SoFi Stadium events
- Take on other duties as assigned
Role Qualifications
- BA/BS college degree or its equivalent in relevant area – Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other quantitative fields (Master’s Degree is a plus)
- 3+ years of industry experience
- Expert knowledge of SQL and relational databases
- Advanced Proficient with statistical analysis in common data languages (Python/R)
- Advanced proficiency with visualization tools (Tableau and Google Looker expertise is a plus)
- Advanced proficiency with ETL and other data workflow tools (Alteryx, DBT)
- Familiarity with creating and maintaining Natural Language Processing (NLP) models for text analytics and sentiment analysis is a plus
- Experience using workflows, scripts for automation purposes is a plus
- Experience working on projects related to pricing, customer retention, sales lead scoring, survey research/text analytics is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to coach other data scientists and share best practices to elevate the Strategy & Analytics practice
- Capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously, highly collaborative, able to build long-term relationships with cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated experience taking ambiguous problems and solve them in a structured, hypothesis-driven, data-supported way
- Highly organized and detailed orientated
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
- Familiarity with Ticketmaster / Archtics Data Platform is a plus
Expected Salary Range: $75,000/yr. - $100,000/yr. + bonus (pay will be dependent on experience and qualifications)
