The Opportunity:
We seek an Executive Vice President or Senior Vice President of Social Media to collaborate with agency and social media division leaders in growing our social media division. They will partner with other agency leaders to deliver award-winning social media strategy and execution, whether the campaign is for unbranded disease awareness, branded promotion, or advocacy. The right person will be creatively minded and able to leverage insights to drive the client's desired goals. They will also be responsible for generating new and organic business opportunities. They will be part of the leadership team to ensure that all work meets our agency’s standards; therefore, they must be proactive, collaborative, innovative, influential, and motivating.
This role will put you in front of stakeholders at all levels and across the agency, and, as such, requires someone who has experience successfully building consensus and is comfortable speaking to diverse audiences. You'll excel in this role if you have experience working in a client-facing position, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and integrating their input while maintaining a top-down, brand-level strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Building
- Partner with other social media division leaders to continue building our social media strategy, content, client service, and analytics capabilities
- Inspire and mentor team members, focusing on developing future leaders and fostering a collaborative culture
- Define scalable team structures and processes to support rapid growth and expansion
- Client Leadership
- Act as a senior strategic partner to key clients, providing thought leadership and guidance on social strategy, content, and innovation
- Lead executive-level client conversations, driving alignment and long-term relationships
- Guide integrated teams on how social media intersects with broader marketing strategies
- Bridge the traditional agency offerings with social media offerings to ensure consistency and integration
- Social Media Expertise
- Oversee the development of platform-specific and full-funnel social strategies, including paid, owned, and earned tactics
- Bring a deep understanding of paid social, including audience targeting, media buying, and optimization
- Guided creative content development that is insight-led, channel-native, and compliant
- Business Growth
- Partner with agency leadership on new business efforts, bringing compelling social media thinking to pitches and proposals
- Identify and activate opportunities to grow organic business through strategic recommendations and performance excellence
- Innovation & Operations
- Stay ahead of industry trends and platform updates to inform client strategies and internal education
- Implement tools, technologies, and operational frameworks to drive efficiency, measurement, and effectiveness
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in social media marketing, communications, and/or advertising for health care brands.
- Deep experience within an agency setting; understands the pace, complexity, and integration required in a client-service environment
- Proven track record of building and leading social media teams, ideally through periods of growth or transformation
- Expertise across all major platforms (Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.), emphasizing full funnel tactical execution
- Strong creative sensibility — able to push for breakthrough ideas while ensuring alignment with medical/legal requirements
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills; comfortable engaging with senior clients and internal stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to manage large teams and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence
- Familiarity with influencer marketing, community management, and/or social listening tools
