The Logistics Lead plays a pivotal role in facilitating cross-functional collaboration between the Buying Department, Retail, and Logistics functions within the company. This role is responsible for overseeing and optimizing ALL shipping activities company-wide to ensure efficient and timely delivery of products with all vendors and service providers.
Key Responsibilities
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Act as a liaison between the Buying Department, Retail, and Logistics teams, fostering effective communication and alignment of launch goals.
- Collaborate with the Buying Department to ensure accurate delivery of launch product.
- Collaborate with warehouse to verify timely delivery of inbound goods & late goods
- Collaborate with retail the information from buying and warehouse.
Shipping Oversight:
- Manage and monitor ALL shipping activities, including inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring compliance with shipping schedules and customer requirements. Setting Up trucking for flash sale and 3PL business. Maintaining the clearance of goods thru customs vs DSV/FedEx etc.
- Coordinate with logistics partners and carriers to optimize transportation routes and costs.
- Working with vendors to ensure timely shipments
Inventory Management:
- Work closely with warehouse & retail to verify the stock levels cycle counts and balance of inventory levels as well as assist with the pickup of RTV/RA goods in partnership with returns.
- Upon receipt of RTV/RA authorization coordination of RTV timeline with Retail and Warehouse teams
- Document all damaged goods and all logistics claims processing for all vendors (Nike/FedEx/UPS)
Performance Metrics:
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to shipping and logistics efficiency, providing regular reports and insights to drive improvements.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process enhancements in shipping and logistics operations.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all shipping activities adhere to company policies and industry regulations, including safety and quality standards.
- Conduct regular audits and quality checks on shipments to maintain product integrity.
