Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care

A Canadian not-for-profit providing long-term care, seniors housing, community services, hospice care and caregiver education to seniors across the Greater Toronto Area.

Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care is one of the largest not-for-profit senior care organisations in Canada. Founded in 1994, it provides care and services to seniors of Chinese descent and other backgrounds across the Greater Toronto Area, with a stated aim of helping seniors live as independently, healthily and with as much dignity as possible. The organisation serves more than 15,000 individuals a year and holds Exemplary Standing from Accreditation Canada.

Its principal service is residential long-term care, delivered through four homes with a combined 805 beds. Around this sits a broader set of offerings: seniors housing, community-based support services, hospice and end-of-life care, and education and training programmes for caregivers. Work spans the fields of geriatric care, long-term care, hospice and palliative care, community senior services and caregiver education.

Yee Hong operates in Scarborough, Mississauga, Markham and Richmond Hill. Culturally appropriate care is central to its model, with attention to the cultural backgrounds and language preferences of those it serves. As a mission-driven, not-for-profit organisation, it positions itself as an innovator in senior care and takes particular pride in its quality and accreditation record.
