WomenLift Health

A nonprofit founded in 2019 that runs leadership development programmes for women in global health across Africa, South Asia and North America.

WomenLift Health is a nonprofit founded in 2019 to expand the power and influence of talented women in global health and to catalyse systemic change towards gender equality in leadership. It was established as a project of the New Venture Fund in collaboration with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The organisation works with women leaders embedded in health institutions, including directors, ministry officials, researchers and clinicians.

Its flagship offering is the Leadership Journey, a 12-month programme for mid-career women in health. The programme combines leadership development modules, psychometric assessments, executive coaching, mentorship and structured peer learning, with the intent of building both individual leadership and collective power. Activities span three regions: Africa, South Asia and North America.

WomenLift Health operates across global health, healthcare, health systems and public health, with an emphasis on systemic change - shaping policies, shifting budgets and building systems that deliver care to communities in need. Staff and fellows work at the intersection of leadership development and gender equality, engaging directly with health institutions and their leaders.
