Virtua Health

Virtua Health is an academic health system serving South Jersey, where more than 14,000 colleagues work alongside some 2,850 doctors and clinicians. The network comprises five hospitals, two satellite emergency departments and more than 40 ambulatory surgery centres, with over 400 care locations throughout the region. The organisation covers the full range of care, from acute and emergency services to outpatient surgery and specialty practice.

Clinical work spans cardiology, transplant medicine, orthopaedics and maternity, alongside cancer and neurosciences services delivered in partnership with Penn Medicine and paediatrics in partnership with the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Research and teaching sit within the Virtua Health College of Medicine & Life Sciences, which is affiliated with Rowan University, giving clinicians and educators a role in medical research and medical education alongside their practice.

Beyond the clinical network, Virtua Health runs community health programmes including the Pediatric Mobile Services Unit, which delivers paediatric services via a mobile unit, and the Eat Well food access initiative.
