UJA-Federation of New York
UJA-Federation of New York is a Jewish philanthropy and communal planning organisation distributing nearly $400 million a year in grants across New York, Israel and worldwide.
UJA-Federation of New York is the largest local Jewish philanthropy in the world and the central force for communal planning and philanthropy in the New York Jewish community. Founded in 1917 and operating for more than a century, the organisation distributes nearly $400 million annually through more than 1,200 grants, funding a network of agencies and programmes across New York, Israel and Jewish communities worldwide.
Its work spans humanitarian and social services - supporting families in poverty, older adults, Holocaust survivors, people with disabilities and those facing mental health challenges - as well as Jewish education, summer camps and community-building programmes. UJA-Federation also provides support to Israel and Jewish communities globally, mobilises in response to crises, and stands against antisemitism.
Employees work across planning, grantmaking and programme functions, with an emphasis on collaborative work across departments and professional excellence. The organisation offers flexible hybrid working arrangements, generous time off including 17 paid federal and Jewish holidays, early Friday closures and a stated commitment to work-life balance.
