Troy Design and Manufacturing

Troy Design and Manufacturing Co. (TDM) is a metro-Detroit business and a wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Company. Founded in 1980, it began in stamping engineering and sheet metal fabrication and has since broadened into a manufacturer offering end-to-end engineering, prototyping, and production services under one roof. Its work centres on automotive prototype and low-volume production, the area in which it has built its industry reputation, supporting current and future Ford vehicles as well as external customers.

The company's technical base spans metal stamping and sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, robotic assembly, laser cutting, automation, and 3D design, 3D printing, and additive manufacturing. These capabilities are applied across several industry verticals, among them automotive, aerospace, specialty products, marine, motorsports, and defence.

TDM operates four manufacturing locations in the United States, with a presence in metro-Detroit, Plymouth, Michigan, and Chicago, Illinois. Its design and manufacturing facility spans 1.1 million square feet.
