Trinity College London

International awarding organisation and education charity providing qualifications in music, drama, combined arts and English language to over 700,000 candidates in 80+ countries.

Trinity College London is an international awarding organisation and independent education charity. Founded in 1872 in London, it provides recognised qualifications and assessments in music, drama, combined arts and English language, examining more than 700,000 candidates a year across over 80 countries.

Its portfolio covers several fields of assessment. Graded music exams run from initial grades upward and are designed to build confidence while challenging learners at each stage. Professional performing arts diplomas extend this progression to higher-level qualifications. In English language, the organisation offers secure English language tests (SELT) for visa purposes as well as qualifications for teaching English. Recognised qualifications are also available across drama and combined arts disciplines.

The charity's stated mission is to promote communicative and performance skills that are life-enhancing and accessible to all. Assessments are structured to be inclusive of candidates of all ages and cultures, with flexibility for candidates to perform to their strengths and to bring their own choices into examinations. Examiners are trained to put candidates at ease and to provide encouragement, and qualifications are levelled to support steady, confidence-building progression.
