The technical work spans artificial intelligence, AI-human hybrid systems, speech and phone automation, delivery logistics optimisation and customer marketing technology. Tarro reports that it is profitable and growing fast. In 2024 it was named one of Built In's top companies to work for.
The company was co-founded by brothers Steve Lin and Dennis Lin. Steve Lin began answering phones and making deliveries at his family's restaurant at the age of 14, and former restaurant operators are among the staff. The wider team includes alumni of Harvard, MIT, Google, Tesla and Meta. Tarro states a mission of helping mom-and-pop restaurants thrive rather than merely survive, and declined a $200m buyout offer in order to remain independent.
