Singapore's national HealthTech agency, building health IT infrastructure including the National Electronic Health Record, HealthHub and NGEMR, alongside AI, analytics, telehealth and cloud platforms.
Synapxe is Singapore's national HealthTech agency, founded in 2008 and formerly known as Integrated Health Information Systems (IHiS) before rebranding in 2023. Working with the Ministry of Health, it executes national healthcare IT masterplans and builds intelligent technological solutions intended to improve the health of millions. Its remit spans hospitals, general practitioners and community care providers, connecting people and systems across the public healthcare ecosystem.
The agency develops and runs much of the country's core health IT infrastructure. Its products include the National Electronic Health Record (NEHR), critical national infrastructure for consolidated health records that supports more than 12 million annual patient visits; HealthHub, a national digital health platform for individuals; the Next Generation Electronic Medical Record (NGEMR), deployed across public healthcare institutions; and cloud platforms built on Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.
Technical work covers artificial intelligence and AI-enabled clinical decision support, data analytics, telehealth, robotics process and robotics automation, electronic health records and health information systems, and data interoperability and seamless data sharing. More than 50,000 healthcare users are supported, and the agency's technological impact has been recognised with over 80 awards.
Headquartered in Singapore, Synapxe describes itself as a mission-driven public agency with a collaborative approach, linking individuals, systems, hospitals, GPs and community care providers.
