Space Kinetic

Space Kinetic is a space technology company founded in 2022 that develops systems for maneuverability and affordability in space missions, with a focus on national security priorities. Its stated aim is to enable operations in Low Earth Orbit and beyond without the constraints imposed by the rocket equation. The company works across space systems, space maneuverability, mission architecture and Low Earth Orbit operations, and is venture-backed.

Its principal product is Whirlwind, a proprietary platform described as a new operating system for space. The platform is built around an innovative "one-to-many" architecture, which the company says delivers abundant manoeuvrability and advantageous marginal costs in the space domain.

Space Kinetic evolved from a university research project at UC Berkeley and was founded by graduate students. The company has a presence in New Mexico, El Segundo, California and Berkeley, California, and operates in the space, national security and defence sectors.
