Impulse Space

Impulse Space develops in-space orbital mobility vehicles - including the Helios kick stage and Mira transfer vehicle - for payload transport to LEO, GEO and cislunar destinations.

Impulse Space develops in-space orbital mobility vehicles intended to deliver payloads rapidly and reliably to any destination in space. Founded in 2021, the company builds spacecraft for transport between orbits and beyond, addressing low Earth orbit, geostationary orbit, cislunar space and the lunar surface. It serves commercial, civil and government missions across satellite deployment and servicing, space stations, and space exploration.

Its product line comprises three offerings. Helios is a high-performance kick stage for transport from LEO to GEO. Mira is an agile orbital transfer vehicle aimed at economical in-space mobility. LEO Express is a rideshare service delivering payloads to low Earth orbit.

The company employs around 80 people and is expanding. Its technical work spans spacecraft propulsion, orbital transport, avionics, autonomous systems and spacecraft design. The team includes veterans of SpaceX, TRW and other space companies; founder Tom Mueller worked on SpaceX's Falcon engines. Impulse Space has raised more than $525m in total capital.
