It operates as the visual effects and animation unit of Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group, producing photorealistic live-action visual effects, dynamic creature and character animation and full computer-generated feature films. The studio has contributed to over 75 productions, including work on franchises such as Spider-Man.
The studio's activities span several technical domains: photorealistic live-action visual effects, creature and character animation, full-CG feature filmmaking and the development of visual storytelling technology. Its output ranges from effects work integrated into live-action shoots to completely computer-generated animated features.
