Rendesco
Rendesco is a UK clean energy developer and operator founded in 2012, installing and running ground source heat pumps and heat networks, with over 10,000 homes served.
Rendesco is a clean energy technology developer and operator founded in 2012 and headquartered in Chelham, UK. The company specialises in the electrification of heat, working across ground source heat pump technology, heat network design and operation, geothermal drilling and borehole installation, and energy optimisation software. It describes itself as the UK's leading independent clean energy tech developer and operator in this field, and is one of the largest ground source heat pump installers in the UK market.
The company designs, installs, funds and operates low-carbon heating systems for homeowners, residential developers, social housing providers and housing associations. Its cylinder-free heat pump installations are completable in a single day. A proprietary radial drilling capability requires minimal surface footprint, allowing ground source networks to be installed in dense urban areas with minimal disruption, while a flow optimisation platform manages energy usage to shift demand to cheaper, cleaner power times. Rendesco owns and manages more than 70 ground source heat networks serving in excess of 3,000 homes across the UK.
Heat pumps have been installed in over 10,000 homes, saving some 35,000 tonnes of CO2; the company puts the saving at approximately 18 tonnes per property compared with a gas boiler. Rendesco is backed by a £100m investment from Pioneer Point Partners.
