Refine

Refine provides an AI-powered review platform that checks mathematical reasoning, logic, evidence and code-prose consistency in academic and technical documents.

Refine operates an AI-powered review platform that checks academic articles and technical documents for serious errors before referees, regulators, customers or opposing experts act on flawed analysis. The platform examines mathematical reasoning, calculations, logic, evidence, internal consistency, claims and references, and tests agreement between prose, tables, figures and code. It is aimed at users across academia and scientific research, publishing and journals, higher education, central banking and financial regulation, financial services, legal and litigation work, and enterprise.

The system is described as independent AI verification. A proprietary harness coordinates frontier AI models, deterministic checkers and purpose-trained classifiers, with verifiers trained on documents seeded with subtle errors of the kind individual models commonly miss. Technical domains covered include AI verification, large language models, adversarial and seeded-error verifier training, mathematical reasoning checking, code-prose consistency analysis and computational verification. Each review uses roughly 300 times the compute of a standard AI call and typically returns within 20 to 40 minutes.

Access is provided through a web interface, integrations, a REST API and MCP, serving both individual researchers and large organisations. Refine states that uploaded content is stored encrypted, is never used to train AI models, and that the company holds SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certification.
