Rebar is a construction technology company founded in 2024 that applies artificial intelligence to the processing of construction documents. Its platform reads blueprints and spec books, extracts relevant data and generates quotes for commercial HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing suppliers and subcontractors. The company is headquartered in New York, NY and operates across North America.

Its proprietary vertical AI platform combines computer vision, layout analysis and document data extraction to automate takeoffs and estimating work that has traditionally been done manually. The company reports that the system has scaled to more than 500 quotes per day and has been used on thousands of projects across North America, including billion-dollar construction projects. Quote turnaround is measured in minutes rather than days.

Alongside the underlying platform, Rebar sells hyper-specialized HVAC estimating software designed to let inside sales and estimating staff work through takeoffs more quickly. The company addresses a $250B HVAC industry and describes its wider ambition as building an AI operating system for commercial trades suppliers. Its work in the sector was recognised with the 2026 AHR Innovation Award for impact on the HVAC industry.

Rebar raised $14M in a Series A round and is focused on rapid scaling. Technical work spans computer vision, layout analysis, document data extraction and takeoff automation.
