Quantum Motion Technologies

A London-based quantum computing scale-up building scalable silicon quantum computers using CMOS-compatible semiconductor manufacturing, with teams across the UK, Australia, Spain and the US.

Quantum Motion Technologies is a London-based quantum computing scale-up developing scalable, silicon-based quantum computers built with standard semiconductor manufacturing techniques. Its approach relies on CMOS-compatible fabrication, using industrial-grade silicon chips rather than bespoke quantum hardware, with the aim of making quantum computing cheaper and more compact than conventional architectures.

In September 2025 the company delivered what it describes as the industry's first full-stack silicon CMOS quantum computer. The system was installed at the UK's National Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC) and is reported to reduce cost and space requirements 100-fold compared with traditional quantum computing architectures.

The company employs more than 110 specialists and has raised over £62 million in equity and grant funding, most recently a $160 million Series C round. Its founders, internationally renowned researchers from University College London and Oxford University, have more than 40 years of combined experience in qubits and quantum computing architectures. Investors include Bosch Ventures, Porsche SE, Sony Innovation Fund, Oxford Sciences Innovations, INKEF Capital and Octopus Ventures.

Work spans quantum physics, silicon qubits, integrated circuit engineering, CMOS-compatible semiconductor fabrication, quantum computing architecture and software development. The team is multidisciplinary and distributed across five locations: London, Oxford, Sydney, San Sebastián and Maryland.
