Pediatrix Medical Group

Pediatrix Medical Group is a physician-led national medical group providing specialized care for women, babies, and children. Founded in 1979 by Dr. Roger Medel as a single neonatology practice, it has grown into one of the largest providers of women's, infant's, and children's health services in the United States. The organization works in partnership with nearly 400 hospitals across 36 states and comprises more than 4,400 affiliated clinicians.

Clinical work spans neonatal intensive care, the group's founding practice area, alongside maternal-fetal medicine for high-risk pregnancies, prenatal and obstetric care, pediatric hospitalist medicine, and highly specialized pediatric care for children. The Center for Research, Education, Quality and Safety (CREQS) supports these services through investment in clinical infrastructure, research, medical education, and continuous quality-improvement and patient-safety initiatives.

The group describes itself as physician-led, with a stated mission to "take great care of the patient, every day and in every way" and an emphasis on coordinated, compassionate, and clinically excellent care. In 2022 the company rebranded from MEDNAX, Inc. to Pediatrix Medical Group, reflecting a focused dedication to women's and children's services.
