Orbital Paradigm
Orbital Paradigm builds reusable space return capsules that carry payloads to orbit and return cargo, finished products and research data to Earth.
Orbital Paradigm is developing reusable space return vehicles intended to supply the return leg of space logistics. Founded in 2023 by aerospace engineer Francesco Cacciatore and co-founder Victor Garcia Gomez and headquartered in Madrid, the company designs capsules that carry payloads to low Earth orbit and bring cargo, finished products and research data back to Earth. The aim is to serve in-space manufacturing and microgravity experimentation, where access to orbit has outpaced the means of retrieving results.
The company's principal product is Kestrel, a reusable, low-cost return capsule built for frequent, low-acceleration reentry missions. It is designed to transport experiments and raw materials to orbit and return finished products and research data to Earth with pinpoint vertical landing in continental Europe. The KID demonstrator serves as an early mission in the Kestrel programme, with flights progressing toward full capsule recovery attempts.
Technical work spans aerospace engineering, space logistics, reusable reentry vehicles, capsule reentry and recovery, autonomous vertical landing and high-cadence space operations. The stated commercial focus includes pharmaceuticals, biotech and advanced materials alongside in-space manufacturing and space logistics. Operations are centred on low Earth orbit, with landing and recovery activities planned across continental Europe.
