Open Arms Care

Nonprofit providing residential and therapeutic services, including 24/7 nursing care, to adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Tennessee.

Open Arms Care is a nonprofit organisation founded in 1990 that provides residential and therapeutic services to adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It operates Intermediate Care Facility (ICF/IDD) homes across multiple Tennessee communities, serving roughly 292 clients, and is among the largest ICF/IDD providers in the region. Named service locations include Chattanooga, Greeneville, Knoxville, Memphis and Nashville.

The organisation's work spans several service lines. Residential care is delivered through homes staffed with round-the-clock nursing and medical support, combined with what the organisation describes as a family-oriented approach. Each client receives a personalised care plan covering behavioural support and dietary assistance. Therapeutic and developmental services include life-skills training, vocational support and recreational therapy, alongside community integration programming intended to support social and recreational engagement.

Open Arms Care describes itself as mission-driven, with an emphasis on dignity, meaningful lives and helping individuals reach their maximum potential. Work sits within the healthcare, residential care, disability services and therapeutic and behavioural health fields.
