It operates a globally connected venture-building ecosystem that commercialises university research and backs bold ideas and ambitious talent to build companies with real-world impact. Its stated aim is to move research from the laboratory to the market, building firms that change the way people live, work and play.
Its work spans biotechnology, life sciences, synthetic biology, biomedical sciences, healthcare technologies and deep tech, alongside research commercialisation and IP strategy. Three named programmes structure much of this activity: Pulse, an innovation track covering biotechnology, life sciences, synthetic biology, biomedical sciences and healthcare technologies; National GRIP, a programme for deep tech venture creation; and PIER71, focused on maritime innovation.
The organisation works as part of a collaborative ecosystem that includes venture builders, market discovery specialists, IP strategists, operators, investors and industry partners. Its reach is global, with operations and partnerships spanning Singapore, Asia and international markets. Industry verticals in which it is active include biotechnology, life sciences, healthcare, deep tech, maritime, and higher education and research.
