Netcare

Netcare operates South Africa's largest network of private hospitals, primary healthcare facilities and emergency medical services, employing around 20,000 people since 1996.

Netcare is South Africa's largest operator of private hospitals, with a network of acute hospitals, primary healthcare facilities and emergency medical services spanning the country. Founded in 1996 and headquartered in Sandton, Johannesburg, the group employs approximately 20,000 people and is listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. It has been in operation for more than 25 years.

The clinical scope ranges from general acute care to specialised services, including radiosurgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, bone marrow transplant and robotic surgery. Among its centres of excellence is the only Level 1 accredited private trauma care facility in South Africa. On the technology side, the group develops digital health and data-driven care platforms; its Netcare CareOn product is designed to support patients across their healthcare journey.

Netcare describes its approach as person-centred, with an emphasis on the safety and quality of care and on the use of technology and data along the patient pathway. Roles across the organisation span clinical practice, emergency medical services, specialist treatment, and the digital and medical technology functions that support the hospital network.
