Mozilla Corporation

Mozilla builds open-source, privacy-first technology, including the Firefox browser and tools such as Mozilla VPN, Monitor and Firefox Relay.

Mozilla Corporation is the wholly-owned subsidiary of the Mozilla Foundation, the non-profit behind Firefox. Founded in 1998, it builds privacy-respecting, open-source technology with the stated aim of reclaiming the internet as a public resource and extending trustworthy, open-source alternatives into the AI era. It operates without shareholders or billionaire backing, and describes its decisions as driven by mission rather than investor demand.

Its best-known product is Firefox, a web browser that has championed an open web for over 25 years. The wider portfolio addresses privacy and data control: Mozilla VPN for network privacy, Mozilla Monitor for data-breach awareness and protection, and Firefox Relay, which masks personal information such as email addresses. Technical work spans web browsers, privacy and anti-tracking technology, data protection, VPN and network privacy, identity and email privacy, and artificial intelligence.

The organisation has a global footprint and a global community of contributors, and works across research, digital-rights policy advocacy and grants, funding researchers and activists alongside product engineering. It takes an explicit anti-surveillance and anti-tracking stance, and is building what it describes as trustworthy, open-source AI alternatives to extractive systems. Engineering culture is rooted in open source, and Mozilla has stated a commitment to educating the next generation of ethical technologists.
